Made from mis-casts of my own wooden hut model kit.
An example of what could be done with some imagination and the "blank canvas" of my hut kit; additions and modifications to the structure, plus a story to fill the interior.
Something chemical was going on here, until it wasn't...
The Sturm Tyrann. A crimson variant of Berserk Fury equipped with the Storm (Sturm) unit. I would have loved to see more CAS variants for the Fury in a sequel to Zoids New Century Zero. That never happened, but we at least got this awesome HMM kit!
Mine has been painted, panel lined, waterslid, and top coated. A reissue is currently still available for sale if you want to pick up your own. I strongly recommend painting the gold parts at least. The default color is whack.

The Blade Ligers | Part 4
The one that celebrated them all. The Zoids 40th Anniversary Blade Liger is a mashup of old and new. It pays homage to the motorized kits from my childhood yet takes some design cues from the newer Zoids Wild series.
It has a more organic looking inner frame, with a spine and ribs, but the chunky armor retains the classic clean design of the originals. There’s little poseability, but this is probably the coolest looking one.
Also… just look at those enormous chompers.

The one that sparked joy. I missed the launch of the Hagane Works Blade Liger, but nabbed this lightly used one a year later.
It comes mostly preassembled, has lots of metal parts, and is a stunning representation of my favorite Zoid. No Fiona, Van, or Zeke here. This is a standard Republic Blade Liger with two generic pilot figures.
This is probably the most realistic looking Blade Liger. I love this interpretation. It’s realistic yet faithful to the anime.

The Blade Ligers | Part 2
The one that reignited my obsession. My wife bought me this HMM Blade Liger as a birthday gift a decade ago. It was my first real model kit, and the first Zoid I had built since I was a kid. Little did she know this would lead to multiple Zoid shelves, a closet full of unbuilt kits, and an entire section of our office dedicated to painting these things.
This is a special anime edition that came with Zeke, Fiona, and Van figures. Look closely and you’ll notice that Fiona is driving. My daughter was looking at this one day and wanted “the girl” to be up front in the driver’s seat. So in our universe, this Blade Liger belongs to Fiona instead of Van.
