oldguy52 - resist, live, love<p>From a recent hike. The Red-bellied Woodpeckers are sitting on the nest. With the Nature Sanctuary flooded (it is a wetland, on a floodplain), I have not been able to check on them for a few days. They breed on Apr. 11. Using averages, breeding to egg laying ~10 days, incubation ~ 12 days, the eggs should be hatching over the weekend. After that 24-27 days nesting time before they will fledge. Hope to start seeing fledglings around May 27 if all goes well.</p><p><a href="https://techhub.social/tags/BirdsOfMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BirdsOfMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/BirdPhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BirdPhotography</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/RedBelliedWoodpecker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RedBelliedWoodpecker</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/500mm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>500mm</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/DarkTable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DarkTable</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Nesting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nesting</span></a></p>
