Removing decaying plant matter also helps. I tend to mix old compost with new and a bit of home-made and maybe some vermiculite. Often it's a bit course for my lettuce seeds. I sometimes sieve it. Grow plants from seeds &amp;/or or divide. Buy unbleached toilet rolls delivered in card board boxes etc. But it shouldnt be up to the individual to have to source these things. Governments need to do much more to help us live our lives more sustainably.</p>
