Great article on the importance of 'interjections': I'm a big fan of them in qualitative interviews. People sometimes worry they make verbose transcription more difficult, but it's much worse to try and do without them and not give your participants any 'verbal' feedback or encouragement

Google DocsCall for Qualitative Data Analysis Tool WorkshopsThe IASSIST Qualitative Social Science & Humanities Data Interest Group (QSSHDIG) seeks presenters for a series of workshops on software for qualitative data analysis in the Spring 2025 semester and beyond. We define technology broadly, as any tool used for analyzing qualitative data. Presentations could be on technology specifically built for QDA (e.g. NVivo, Taguette) or another software or technology that can be adapted for use with qualitative data. Presentations should provide attendees with sufficient information to assess whether the tool is appropriate for a specific QDA project and to get started with learning more about using the tool. See the call for proposals for specific elements we'd like to see in each presentation. Please direct any questions to Jess Hagman jhagman@illinois.edu. Submit your proposal by December 6, 2024. Selected presenters will work with the Professional Development committee to schedule the workshop for February or March 2025.
