It draws on the diverse expertise and perspectives of our stakeholders to ensure that decision-making is participatory and inclusive. CLF members will serve three-year terms, with an annual time commitment of approximately 5–10 hours. This includes attending 1–2 online meetings each year, as well as participating in asynchronous discussions. Members are expected to act as liaisons between the CLF and their stakeholder groups, bringing forward relevant perspectives, priorities, and insights to support inclusive leadership in the research software community. Representation of missing stakeholder groups ReSA invites nominations from stakeholders not currently engaged through existing ReSA forums. Nominations will be reviewed by the ReSA Steering Committee. For further details, please refer to the CLF nomination process document. The deadline for all submissions is 5 September 2025. Selected representatives will be announced in October, with the inaugural meetings taking place in early November. Nominees who are not selected will be informed by ReSA and encouraged to remain involved in ReSA initiatives. Google Docs2025 Research Software Asia Australia Application Form for Scholarships and Accessibility Micro-grantWe are committed to creating a safe, accessible, and inclusive environment for all participants. To this end, we are offering scholarships for staff or students to participate for free, as well as 10 accessibility micro-grants of $50 AUD to help with internet, headphones, childcare etc. Eligibility for the scholarships will be based on prioritising and maximising the inclusion and participation of people who have been impacted due to the cumulative effects of discrimination on factors such as race, gender, disability, gender identity, financial status, and the intersectionality of that discrimination as well as others not mentioned here. Eligibility for the accessibility will be based on a similar approach. Only participants from Asia and Australia are eligible for the micro-grant. We encourage participants to apply even if they do not think they are eligible as this will allow us to prioritise and maximise diversity and inclusion. All information will be treated in a confidential manner. All successful recipients of scholarships and accessible micro-grants are expected to attend the event after they have been notified of their conditional success. Micro-grants application due has been extended from Wednesday the 23rd July 12pm UTC +10 to Friday the 8th of August 12pm UTC +10. This is particularly challenging in a scientific context. For example, fewer than one third of tools and platforms for biological network representation, analysis, and visualisation have been available and supported over a period of 15 years. One of those tools is Vanted, which has been developed and actively supported over the past 20 years. In this work, we discuss sustainable software development in science and investigate which software tools for biological network representation, analysis, and visualisation are maintained over a period of at least 15 years. With Vanted as a case study, we highlight five key insights that we consider crucial for sustainable, long-term software development and software maintenance in science.
