En suivant un tutoriel "solve your #rubikscube in 10 minutes" avec kid n1 (10 ans) on est enfin arrivé à résoudre le notre en 2 jours 😂. On a dû recommencer plusieurs fois. Je commence à bien piger. Je suis bien contente. Un truc de cochée ✅ sur ma bucket list 📃

Heh, the Rubik's cube from the flea market was more challenging than the eBook reader!

Tried to solve it and yup, definitely something wrong with this cube. It cannot be solved! Some "clever" kid had swapped the stickers around.

So I took it apart. As has every owner of one of these at least once, and don't you deny it!

Then found the mismatching stickers and where they should be and swapped them back.

Now it's a working cube 😁 And a nice spring-loaded speed cube at that.

A seemingly innocent Rubik's cube (3x3). The top is all green apart from a blue center. However, the missing green square is on an edge and not a center piece, so it can never be moved to the center. This is because someone swapped the colour stickers around.
The cube, now taken apart. Two identical white/red edge pieces are next to each other, which should not exist.
The cube pieces, now laid out on the table and sorted into three layers, top, middle (with core) and bottom. This was to identify which colour stickers needed swapping.
The finished cube, now reassembled in solved state to confirm it's now a working puzzle that can be solved!

I have a question for the #speedcubing community here - if there is one.

Whilst I'm not necessarily interested in getting to the point of being able to solve a #RubiksCube within mere seconds, I would like a smoother experience than the official Rubik's Cube. I find they're clunky and nowhere near anything as smooth as people online show their cubes to be on YouTube.

I had a look at some alternative brands, but there are so many brands / models.

Would anyone be able to recommend any please?
