What I did today: Fixed XML fragment (ELement) parsing in REXML's HEAD
TIL in #rspec ‘describe’ blocks are evaluated when the file is parsed, not when the spec is executed. That one took me a few hours!

I wrote a brief article on how to use Hotwire Combobox for a minor feature in RubyEvents!
What made this interesting was a combination of requirements: Multi-selection, free-text input, and mapping values for YAML generation.

Celebrated this woo hoo explosions in the sky day with SCIENCE at the American Museum of Natural History! I had always wanted to bring @alifeeney along and for us to touch Ahnighito- the largest meteor on display in a museum in the world. We touched the meteor- and I learned that rubies glow when exposed to short wave UV C and its called "Super Red"!
The red italian neon glass is called "ruby" and we do back it with red light to make that super red. I must say- the effect is most pronounced with rare earth Yttrium Europium phosphors and argon mercury for pure red light backing it, but its still a "fuzzy red" with the neon fill. Never have I wanted to have ruby jewelry so bad... synthetic rubies. I think I really like red.
Would recommend that museum to any science lovers. Go while you still can- and its pay what you want if your a New York State Resident. Hooray for Science!

A couple notes on RailsConf next week:
- Day 1: I'll be at the Author's Table (near the Liberty Ballroom) to talk about my Ruby Alchemy book (https://alchemists.io/books/ruby_alchemy) from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
- Day 2: I'll be giving my lightning talk on Terminus (https://github.com/usetrmnl/byos_hanami) at ~5:21pm.
I'll also have a few TRMNLs (https://usetrmnl.com) to give away for anyone who can fix a bug and/or add a feature. Must be well written and tested to qualify!
