“My voice is inadequate,” Mr. Booker said more than 19 hours into the speech. “My efforts today are inadequate to stop what they’re trying to do. But we the people are powerful.”
And “We’re senators with all of this power, but in this democracy, the power of people is greater than the people in power.”

Yeah! It certainly is, @Catherineb201! I'm almost 60 and never in my life have I seen a political speech (and I have seen plenty) which captured all my senses for hours. And that's not for the length of the exercise, but for its depth.

#Senator #CoryBooker is a great orator. We knew that. But this is not just a speech. It's an exercise in #democracy and a lecture so personal and universal, I don't remember anything coming even close to this.

Chuck #Schumer is not a great Leader for the moment we are in. I wish he would step down from that role in favor of a more feisty, timely, & strategic communicator.

But he has been a great #Senator for NY, & despite his city accent, he is good even for poor deindustrialized rural areas of the state. He knows community people by name & union in frigid & remote places & brings home the bacon so I rather hope he keeps at the job.
