The Panel, set up by the Department for Transport (DfT), aims to support UK bus manufacturing, promote zero-emission #buses, and create jobs. UTG will be a ‘standing member’ alongside Government departments, bus operators, and industry bodies. The Panel's goal is to help the UK maintain its position as a bus manufacturing leader while aiding local authorities in achieving transport goals. Transport Minister Simon Lightwood, along with metro mayors Oliver Coppard and Tracy Brabin, launched the Panel. UTG’s report highlighted the need for 15,000 buses in England’s cities to go zero-emission by 2036 to meet net-zero targets.
https://www.urbantransportgroup.org/index.php/resources/types/press-release/urban-transport-group-joins-new-government-panel-boost-green-buses
