This work ‘breathes’ the style of the old master Rembrandt, not in the last place because of the use of the same techniques in light and dark. ⚪️⚫️🎨

It’s an eye-catching appearance painted on a small generator house at NDSM-Plein. 🔋⚡️ …might be there, might be gone already due to the temporary state of the art. 🖼️

The responsible artist is Donovan Spaanstra, who also has three of his works hanging as a part of the permanent collection of the “Amsterdam Museum”. 🏛️

On the right side the old master himself hints on visiting the museum more often. 👍

Justin K, better known as Justin Neurd, is a Dutch street artist who works under the name “Neurd” (not to be confused with ‘Nerd’ 😅).

His graffiti and street art can be found in various locations throughout the city, such as, in this case, the NDSM Wharf. ⛵️

He initially started as a tattoo artist, but nowadays, he focuses entirely on graffiti and street art in and around Amsterdam. 🤟❌❌❌

Glory is a variation on the world-famous painting Het “Melkmeisje “ (The Milkmaid) by Johannes Vermeer. The artwork was designed and painted by the duo El Pez (Pez Pescao) and Recal (Daniel Oosterman) in 2014. Location is the Martinus Nijhoffstraat in Nieuw-West.

This tiger is to be found in the Gravenstraat, a back alley near the “Nieuwe Kerk“. The responsible artist DHM, is a painter, and graphic designer from the city. His work is recognized for its tribal tattoo-inspired style, often depicting animals. 🐯

As a graphic designer, DHM has worked with big league brands under his own name (Hugo Mulder). ™️©️

Though running his own studio, you can still see his passion for street art throughout the city. 🏙️

From 13 to 17 May 2019 “Stichting Amsterdam Street Art” (ASA) organized a unique street art festival at the Platanenweg in the Eastside of Amsterdam. The festival “If Walls Could Speak” resulted in 10 huge murals ( 10 x 15 meters ) from well-known national and international street art artists. The designs of all the murals are brought forth from the theme ‘Amsterdam for Everybody’.
