On vacation in Escondido, CA. Rode the Sprinter train down to #Oceanside. The conductor commented that earlier trains were full of people going to protests. If people are protesting in deep suburban northern San Diego County, hardly a liberal bastion, that's really saying something.

Special Weather Statement for Alberta (none of this specifically mentions my area, but no doubt we'll get some part of it! I cut extra firewood today in anticipation of mucky weather. This mostly talks about stuff starting tomorrow night, but we currently have light rain which will probably turn to snow soon as it's barely above freezing.

A couple of bonus photos: a wild native Ribes/Gooseberry/Currant on a mostly failed garden bed (you know, I feel like I've posted these, but can't find them posted anywhere..lol) and part of the bed that is mostly under that biggest mound of snow in the first photo- which got up to 7-8 feet high in later days, slowly shrinking now- these are stems of Rosa rugosa and Veronica which I've shown in bloom and full of pollinators- hard to believe!

After melting #weather at the beginning of March we had several snowfalls last week. One of them was the wet heavy kind, a pain to shovel! Ebenso wie die lokbespannten Züge von #VLine blicken auch die #Sprinter-Dieseltriebwagen dem Ende ihrer Karriere entgegen.

Das Haupteinsatzgebiet ist v.a. werktags die Breitspurstrecke nach #Seymour, wo die einteiligen Triebwagen meist in Drei- oder Vierfach-Traktion verkehren. Doch auch dort wurden die Leistungen zuletzt stark reduziert und auf VLocity umgestellt.

Weiteres Einsatzgebiet ist noch die Stony Point Line, welche jedoch von Metro Trains Melbourne betrieben wird.
