ARD, 29.05.2025:

"Russland hat der Ukraine nach eigenen Angaben neue Friedensgespräche in Istanbul ab Montag vorgeschlagen."

Könnt ihr vielleicht solche Meldungen direkt einordnen?
So ungefähr:
"Kriegsverbrecher Putin hat erneut Lügner Lawrow vorgeschickt, um Zeit für die Weiterführung des völkerrechtswidrigen Angriffskrieges zu gewinnen" ?

Indem ihr die Sprachregelung eines Verbrechers aufnehmt, macht ihr euch nicht glaubwürdiger!

Destroying Autocracy – May 22, 2025

Welcome to this week’s “Destroying Autocracy”.

It’s your source for curated news affecting democracy in the cyber arena with a focus on protecting it. That necessitates an opinionated Butlerian jihad against big tech as well as evangelizing for open-source and the Fediverse. Since big media’s journalism wing is flailing and failing in its core duty to democracy, this is also a collection of alternative reporting on the eternal battle between autocracy and democracy. We also cover the cybersecurity world. You can’t be free without safety and privacy.

DA comes out on Thursday and is updated through the end of day on Friday. Then we start over. So take your time in perusing it and check back in over the weekend.

FYI, my opinions will be in bold. And will often involve cursing. Because humans. Especially tech bros. And fascists. Fuck ’em.

Hamish Campbell writes:

We need to keep highlighting an old but still urgent tension: the intersection of technology and social change. In this too often unspoken divide, one side leans heavily on practical, technical problem-solving. They want working code, functioning systems, and tangible results, not abstract debates. To them, critiques about capitalism shaping code sound like distractions from the “real work.”

The other side insists that technical problems are social problems. They argue that all code is written by people, shaped by culture, power, and history. Ignoring the social dynamics behind technology guarantees we repeat the same failures.

Lately I’ve been engraving little wooden pieces on my glowfirge - they’ll go in the center of the blue and yellow bracelets kids will make at our event.

It’s happening on June 1st in Minneapolis and is dedicated to Ukraine’s abducted children. Since the full-scale invasion, over 19,000 have been abducted. Most haven’t come back.

There’ll be craft materials, art, stories, and even a multifaith prayer. I’m an atheist, but I’ll be there too.

If you’re nearby, I’ll be happy to see you at 12PM, Sunday, June 1st
505 4th St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
(between St. Constantine & St. Michael Churches)

The Kyiv Independent is working hard to show the world the truth about Russia’s brutal war — and we’re keeping our reporting free for everyone. Because reliable information should be available to all, not just those who can afford it.

We’ve set an ambitious goal: to grow our community to 20,000 members and prove that independent journalism can survive — without paywalls, without billionaires, and without compromise.

But we need your support. Just $5 a month can help us keep going.

@Kristian_Kiehling
"Putin for direct negotiations with Ukraine... it is up to Ukraine whether it agrees to negotiations, Putin continued."
Instead of correctly classifying these statements of the dictator and aggressor Putler, namely as a call for surrender, there is speculation about the noble motives. 🤮

Real Sanctions are simple: EU travel ban to countries that are open to Russians. They last 3-6 months, then they are closed for Russians.

THAT is sanction!
