Claude is 5 years old, 5th of five brothers, he loves wearing a dress & when he grows up he wants to be a girl. A remarkable novel, written with beauty & clarity & humanity. It's heartbreaking & joyous & it's about the world as it is today, better than it was before despite a lot of awfulness that still persists. I couldn't stop reading & cannot recommend it enough.
