I’ve built or rebuilt PCs, servers, cars and homes, and as a result have a ridiculous range of hobbies: #DIY #Woodworking #Remodeling #CarStereo and automotive #Customizing, #Electronics, #HighFidelity, #Audiophile stereo. #Hiking, #Camping, #Renewables #Survivalism. I’m a wannabe #Vegan.

My wife and I have a #Rottweiler, #Koi pond, #Hydroponic #Garden, and love #Cooking #Organic meals together. Meal kit night is our Date Night.

I have a degree in #Economics from #UChicago and a useless #MBA from them too. Former #Mensa member, found little community there. Raised by #GOP parents who did not know they (and yes, I!) were #Racist until I moved to #Chicago and joined a neighborhood #Meditation center in #HydePark.

I felt a family connection for the first time, loved and welcomed, a sense of belonging. I’d found my peeps! It took me 6 months to notice I was the only White.

Today I’m an #AdultRecoveringAsshole. It took me until #Trayvon’s murder and #SandyHook to see that #AssaultRifles,#Handguns and my once-beloved #NRA were not making anybody safer. #SYG #StandYourGround laws let a White start a fistfight, end it with a gun, murder a POC and claim #SelfDefense.

The NRA is the #StochasticTerror arm of the #FSB, inciting racial violence to destabilize Democracy. A cop’s badge is a BIPOC hunting license.

It took me til Dad’s recent #Death to discover how #Toxic I’d become while unconsciously adapting to my own #ChildhoodTrauma. I’ve forgiven him since, he had plenty of his own trauma and was only doing his best.

But my #ACE score helps explain my (former) belligerence and insensitivity, my buried fear and rage, my “need” for firearms… maladaptive traits to protect me from angry, abusive men.
