I thought Harris ran an effective campaign — one of the pillars of which was circumventing the trump-oriented media. She had much ground to cover in a compressed time frame.

She was also up against a tsunami of lies and bs that a lot of voters are only now waking up to. Opposing that sort of campaign is twice as much work as it should be.

Exactly! trump is capable of sucking the air out of the room at will—no one else is seen. Media covers it cuz it’s low-hanging fruit—the stories write themselves. He dominated the last few weeks, by swaying to a mix tape, or talking about a dead golfer’s penis.
@anubis2814 Trump didn’t fill a fucking vacuum. He was given air & she was silenced. The same way when Kamala was in Europe meeting w/ world leaders who were impressed w/ her but the press only covered her shopping for a fucking pan & disparaged her & tried to make her seem elite cause she bought a pan that lasts a lifetime & is in every Republican politicians kitchen including trumps. @Pineywoozle @anubis2814 @timo21 @bronakins Trump creates drama which the media interprets as attention for ad revenue. They expected that even if Trump won, their bank accounts would be full like the last time Trump was in office (that did not happen).
But for better or worse the GOP was successful in motivating their side to vote, & convincing enough people who were apathetic about both parties to not vote.
