Part 3 - If you are one of these people that are like, "I like what you post but I won't boost it because you don't have alt-text", YOU ARE THE PROBLEM, especially if you aren't offering to provide alt-text yourself. Imagine the audacity it takes to complain to someone that is providing the content for free (and encouraging you to steal it yourself) that they aren't doing enough, and also refuse to contribute and help yourself. Part 4 - Lastly, I post memes that are all about CHANGING THE WORLD. I use this as a mantra, "The status quo is unjust."
If your argument against whatever I post is to propose a different change, we will argue but we will still be friends. Change is our goal. I will engage if you can handle nuance, history, and philosophy.
If your argument against whatever I post is to simply dismiss it or minimize the problem that is attempted to be fixed, I will respond to you like the troll you are.

People who deliberately discriminate against those less privileged than themselves are the problem. You knew perfectly well that by omitting #AltText you were excluding blind people. You know perfectly well that decent people don't do that.
The hypocrisy is all your own.
@simon_brooke -- But if you actually read the link I sent you, you'd already KNOW that the alt-text is coming. But of course we have entitled people like yourself that instead of doing the Alt-Text, you like to bitch about it. Go through the #Alt4You tag and get involved or stop shaming people for using Mastodon the way YOU want it. The only hypocrisy is you pretending to be a good person that thinks they are actually contributing, versus a whiny bitch shaming people that are doing their best.
