@jeffowski True, so why do it? If you feel the need to proselytize atheism, you are turning into a religion. There, now I have insulted both groups.

@glennsills -- because until we rid the human race of religious doctrine, we cannot get to the peak of human development.

Just look at how the religious run the government. Look at how it imposes itself.

Its not proselytizing when people are in the streets protesting climate change.

Its not proselytizing when people are in the streets fighting for workers rights and unions.

You call it proselytizing because you feel uncomfortable with the truth. That's called cognitive dissonance, BTW.

@jeffowski I view religion as just another form of politics with a different name - it attempts to control people's actions by making them think in a particular way. I figure, just let people think what they want.

@glennsills -- You seem to be looking at this the wrong way.
Philosophy is thinking hard about things and determining a just and right action.
But you cannot move forward as a group (politics) until everyone accepts reality and agree to use a specific parameter to act on, and faith/belief is anathema of this.
