Time to get out there… Audiobook is ready, so am I, let’s go! #Running
@sebastianhahn Enjoy the "ride"!
@derentspannende Danke sehr, wird bestimmt eine schöne Runde, ca. 24-27 km.
@sebastianhahn this is such a good book. I also listened to it while running.
Enjoy!
@lehtimaeki Thank you! I like the style and the scientific approach. And yet, I‘m two and a half hours in, so far I‘ve learned not a thing of what to do – but I know a lot more of things that won’t work. Nevertheless, I‘m still curious and will listen on. Have a great day!
@sebastianhahn
I'm afraid that it won't change much as the book goes on. The reality of all this recovery industry is that it's not science backed. What the book did to most was to save money and time.
It does seem to be a pattern in the running related topics in general. There's a lot of money made but not a lot of science to back all the sales. Like shoes, barefoot or max cushioned, it all comes down to "if it feels good, it's probably good for you".
@sebastianhahn I do find it pretty liberating though after reading a lot about these topics. There are some patterns that are supported but mostly it's just about doing and resting. I thoroughly enjoyed all these books going into detail on why a lot of the marketing is not really accurate you probably can't buy speed (other than super shoes).
@lehtimaeki yep, you’re right. That’s the reason I listen to these books at all.
@sebastianhahn that's funny, I've just finished the paperback version! A very good read / listen indeed. I can't wait to hear your thoughts! I have some, but don't want to spoil anything.
@fo That part about sleeping was… *interesting*.
@sebastianhahn haha no doubt!
