Die Telekom will angeblich im Juni 2028 #GSM in all ihren Netzen abschalten. Ob man dieser Aussage vertrauen kann, weiß ich nicht. In der Vergangenheit gab es bereits solche Ankündigungen. GSM gibt es immer noch!
Die Frage ist eher ob man #SMS noch benötigt. Wer verwendet noch SMS im Zeitalter von EndToEnd Verschlüsselung?
Es gibt immer noch Firmen die GSM in ihren Anwendungen als Fallback verwenden. Mittlerweile gibt es einige #LTE Entwicklungen im industriellen Umfeld mit Datenübertragungsraten bis 1200 KBit/Sekunde.Diese LTE Varianten nennen sich LTE NB-IoT, M1 und NB1.
#GrapheneOS bedeutet #Android und #Google Smartphones. Selbst wenn sich 2G abschalten lässt, ist es physikalisch immer noch vorhanden und ließe sich ggf. wieder aktivieren. Das gefällt mir nicht. Aber ich mochte noch nie "Kompaktanlagen"!
Als ich vor gut 20 Jahren bemerkte, dass ich seltsame SMS bekam, die keinen Text enthielten und in der Anrufliste meines Handys nicht auftauchten, veränderte ich mein Verhalten. Seitdem schalte ich mein Handy/Smartphone aus, wenn ich das Haus verlasse und benutze es unterwegs nur wenn es gar nicht anders geht.
