The Peter Pan of Nerdery™ 🇦🇺🏜️<p>How do I clear all notifications on Mac in one go, rather than clicking close on each one? Is there a shortcut?<br>I read that you can "kill the Notification Center process". There a slightly more system friendly, recommended or at least easy way to do this? Would I have to restart it manually?</p><p> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/machelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>machelp</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/applehelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>applehelp</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macoshelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macoshelp</span></a></p>

Technology Tales<p>To reactivate Touch ID on a iMac when options are greyed out, disconnect the keyboard cable, turn off the keyboard, then turn it back on. This simple reset can restore Touch ID settings automatically, a handy tip for new Mac users. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/iMac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iMac</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/TouchID" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TouchID</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/TechTips" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TechTips</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/MacUsers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacUsers</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AppleHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleHelp</span></a> <a href="https://technologytales.com/2024/10/23/reactivating-touch-id-on-an-imac-when-the-options-are-greyed-out-in-system-settings/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">technologytales.com/2024/10/23</span><span class="invisible">/reactivating-touch-id-on-an-imac-when-the-options-are-greyed-out-in-system-settings/</span></a></p>
Chris Clarke<p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/iOS17" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iOS17</span></a> added a very useful feature to <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/iCloudPrivateRelay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iCloudPrivateRelay</span></a> that warns you if your IP cannot be masked ... except I'm doing development on an internal site, so I get the warning every ... single ... time. Does anyone know how to add a permanent exception for a specific URL or IP address? <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/AppleHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleHelp</span></a></p>
Mike Olson<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@feditips" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>feditips</span></a></span> Is there any way to search specific hashtags? For example, if I search "<a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a>" none of the results that I can interact with are actually <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a>, it shows a bunch of other hashtags like <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/applehelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>applehelp</span></a> etc. How can we help the search be more precise?</p><p>EDIT! Just discovered I can use /tags/apple and it shows me <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a>. So I can just go to the web address for a specific tag.</p>
