Donald Trump is inventing a new way. Call it chaos fascism. Destroy the institutions of democracy until they’re so disfigured or dysfunctional that a majority no longer cares about them.

That’s exactly what’s happening with Social Security. The Washington Post reported this week that the SSA is breaking down: Its website 'crashed four times in 10 days this month because the servers were overloaded, blocking millions of retirees and disabled Americans from logging in to their online accounts.' A Wall Street multimillionaire who probably doesn’t need his Social Security check and who has pledged that he will '100 percent work with DOGE' has already cut around 12 percent of the staff and doesn’t look like he’s stopping there.

Not long, it turns out.'

Another observer, journalist and founding editor of the outlet SpyTalk Jeff Stein,remarked that 'Trump goes full-on Soviet with intent to scrub Smithsonian museums etc. of 'improper ideology.'

The move highlights Trump's desire to reshape not only American politics, but cultural institutions too.

The order, which included an accompanying fact sheet, also directs U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to reinstate monuments, memorials, statues, and other properties that have been taken down or altered since the beginning of 2020 to 'perpetuate a false reconstruction of American history, inappropriately minimize the value of certain historical events or figures, or include any other improper partisan ideology.'"

There are several reasons #secession is a terrible idea, even if we don't agree that it was settled in the 1860s.

One is that there are human beings who live in so-called red states, who will be victimized by the #fascists. We have no right to abandon them to be murdered.

Another is that secession won't bring peace. Because fascists have made clear they don't want to peacefully coexist with democracy, they want to destroy it.
