Carlton CarnivoresNepenthes graciliflora “Surigao.” One of two forms of this species I grow; once lumped into N. alata, the split from that species has created significant confusion as many graciliflora, hybrid, and other species continue to be mislabeled as the rather uncommon alata. Carlton CarnivoresNepenthes gracilis, a clone I’ve nicknamed “Shadow.” A widespread and variable species found throughout much of Southeast Asia, typically producing small pitchers on long tangled vines. This one originated from Bornean parentage, and is one of the coveted “black” variants; lower pitchers get deep purple to almost black, spotted with a couple shades of lighter purple that make a dappled shadowy appearance, and even the leaves flush with purple.
