@lumi Cortana from Halo 4 voice: I can tell you so many reasons why #GPLv3 would be a horribe decision and inevitably enshure that said Kernel can't retain compatibility longterm nor share code...
Plus doing so would basically create only unnecessary and redundant labour whilst not providing any real, practical benefit to the end-users...
Espechally since #Linux is galaxies ahead in terms of #documentatation, #developers, #support and #support
@SweetAIBelle @OS1337
So instead of relying on some non-#reproduceable system images for cheap SBCs, why not make something like #OS1337 that is compact enough that one can easily build everything one wants for it to get at least started with something.
Sometimes one just needs to bood a system, check it's hardware and #ddrescue something off the internal harddrive because one doesn't have any other system that can run it...
@landley I guess I'm just trying to force myself into mastering this because a working #1440kB sized #Linux that does more than #cat text files is nifty...
Even if it just works as a means of being a #RescueSystem or #SSH #terminal...
Maybe I've to really focus on just getting it done...

And I think that a #minimalist #embedded / #desktop & #server #Linux has a lot of merits.
Because it can be flexible and useful even if a System does have plenty of resources to handle something bulkier than OS/1337.
And lets face it: Having some self-booting #minimal Linux that starts a #SSH server and allows to act as #RescueSystem or do basic #Setup if not #Backup & #Restore would come in handy regardless if one has a #BMC with #LOM & #iKVM or not.

@smyth But as some versatile #RescueSystem one can blindly let a machine boot into and do basics like SSH into, wipe and/or recover data and #chainload other OSes like an Install ISO from a different drive...
Kinda like the #Foreman #iPXE bootdisk, but better, since it can be used interactively and non-interactively...
