I had suspected it'd be the case, but I can confirm that #SDL applications that do not require hardware acceleration do run nicely in #Xephyr under #OpenBSD. I was able to play some #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis in #SCUMMVM in my sandboxed environment & user at the end of today's #twitch stream. Sound and all!

I _finally_ fixed my configuration to install my primary user's #sndio cookie for my sandbox user. Must be 'rw' for the user only, otherwise sndio will "fix" and gen a new cookie.

I've wrote a post about API/driver interface I've designed and implemented for making various devices equipped with OPL soundchip (responsible for that AdLib / SoundBlaster specific sound in old PC games) talk with SCUMMVM on Atari Falcon 030 (,but not only) and little bit about development itself. Some of it was already posted on Atari Forum / YT. nokturnal.pl/2025/07/nokturnfm #atari #scummvm #atarifalcon030 #atarifalcon #ct60 #retrocomputing #software_development #nokturnfm2 #nokturnfm3 #opl3 #opl2

If you cheekily ask me for my one future #scummvm feature, it would be the ability to output multiple audio output drivers simultaneously.

I would really like to be able to play a single play through with both the Adlib and MIDI audio enabled at the same time.

There are other configurations I would like (such as being able to run mutliple MIDI outputs with different modes), but that one .. that one would really, really be a happy place for now. I would be super happy with General MIDI + Adlib, or MT-32 + Adlib (where games do both). That would open up a whole range of new possibilities.

Being the ability to support all the devices is excellent, but only outputting to one type of device ... we're so close to audio chaos.
