Really impressed with Strudel.cc (music live coding in the browser, based off tidalcycles). It’s so fast to create. Took longer to figure out MacOS audio loopback than to put this together!

I did a Strudel workshop yesterday and it's now become a thing where I invite all the participants (12ish in this case) to jam in flok at the end. It was a beautiful noisy mess!

Also, the other day I discovered livecoded #splittercore. It's as simple as setting your bpm (or 'cps' values) or your rhythm divider to some ridiculously high number in #TidalCycles and voilà: magnificient, unlistenable bursts of sound.

he picked it up crazyyy fast – i feel like the most efficient way to teach someone with a background in music is to ask them what sound they want to get out of the software and then show (or figure out) how to do that with code

tried TidalCycles tidal-core with MicroHs:

- MicroHs enables PatternSynonyms which steals syntax (the identifier `pattern` is now a keyword). solution, replace pattern with pattern_ everywhere it is used as an identifier

- MicroHs has no DeriveFunctor. solution, write manual Functor instances

- MicroHs Integral has no Enum superclass. solution, add Enum constraint

- MicroHs does not support polymorphic record update (yet?). solution, give up (for now?) https://github.com/augustss/MicroHs/issues/190
