But i am trying out #zededitor (zed.dev). It has a very good vim mode and you hardly have to use the mouse. Plus: multicursors and better AI integration. Minus: no quick fix lists, no marks.

Two point five stack
The coolest thing about the Zed Editor imo, is the ability to bind keyboard shortcut with the fn key. Another additional modifier key equals an additional few hundreds possible keybinds. I love the fact that I can switch pane with fn + hjkl.

What is the secret sauce for this? The only other tool that have this possibility is skhd, and I'm using skhd to add fn based keybind to other application, which is a godsend

#ZedEditor

Piotr Esden-Tempski
FWIW the config works fine on a Linux host. It seems to have no impact on a Mac host. I contacted zed support three different ways let’s see if they respond at some point… #zed #zededitor

Piotr Esden-Tempski
Here is a screenshot of the built in Zed chat that is supposed to serve as a place to ask questions as far as I understand. Unless something is wrong with my install and I am not seeing what I am supposed to… it seems to be a bit of a deserted place. #zed #zededitor

Piotr Esden-Tempski
Is the Zed text editor project dead? I wanted to give it another try after having issues configuring the rust-analyzer in the past. It seems to have more rust-analyzer options but they seem to not work, so I asked in the built in chat *crickets*, no-one in there. Just a random guest coming in there once in a long while. And majority of the discussion threads on github don't have answers at all. The pitch seems interesting but without some support it seems hard to get into… :( #zed #zededitor

Gavin Wiggins
I started a discussion about configuring Zed for Python programming.
