Ivan G.<p>A self-promotion post. Just to remind about one of my personal projects: <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/osdev_notes" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>osdev_notes</span></a> available here: <a href="https://github.com/dreamportdev/Osdev-Notes" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/dreamportdev/Osdev-</span><span class="invisible">Notes</span></a> a complete guide on how to write an <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/operatingsystem" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>operatingsystem</span></a> system from scratch in C. It covers all the steps from the boot to the userspace (and beyond) passing through file-system, scheduling, memory etc. <br />They are totally free. They are also available as a printed book on lulu: <a href="https://www.lulu.com/search?sortBy=RELEVANCE&amp;page=1&amp;q=osdev+notes&amp;pageSize=10&amp;adult_audience_rating=00" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">lulu.com/search?sortBy=RELEVAN</span><span class="invisible">CE&amp;page=1&amp;q=osdev+notes&amp;pageSize=10&amp;adult_audience_rating=00</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>programming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/osdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>osdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/kernel" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>kernel</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/assembly" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>assembly</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/selfpublishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>selfpublishing</span></a></p>
Ivan G.<p>So recently i had some time to play again with <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/bookbinding" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>bookbinding</span></a>, tried to make couple of notebooks, one using some decorated paper i bought at a <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/crafting" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>crafting</span></a> store, and the other one based on my <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/osdev_notes" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>osdev_notes</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/book" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>book</span></a> project, i call it the &quot;Osdev Notebook&quot;, it&#39;s still in a drafting stage, but the idea is nice (i have designed the inner pages too). <br />I&#39;ve posted it on my ko-fi page too: <a href="https://ko-fi.com/post/Some-homemade-notebooks-R6R8XQZG3" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ko-fi.com/post/Some-homemade-n</span><span class="invisible">otebooks-R6R8XQZG3</span></a> (don&#39;t worry i use it as my blog, so nothing to pay). <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/art" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>art</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/handmade" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>handmade</span></a></p>
Ivan G.<p>And one of my projects yesterday has reached a big milestone 400 stars on github, i honestly didn&#39;t expect for it to receive so much attention. So far the most successful thing i have done! Thanks to anyone who starred it! <br />The project is my co-authored book on how to write an <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/operatingsystem" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>operatingsystem</span></a>: Osdev Notes. <br />It&#39;s available here: <a href="https://github.com/dreamportdev/Osdev-Notes/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/dreamportdev/Osdev-</span><span class="invisible">Notes/</span></a><br /><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/osdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>osdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/osdev_notes" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>osdev_notes</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/kernel" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>kernel</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/programming" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>programming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/operatingsystem" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>operatingsystem</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/operatingsystems" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>operatingsystems</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/hobbykernel" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>hobbykernel</span></a></p>
Ivan G.<p>Spent sometime today in practicing some <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/bookbinding" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>bookbinding</span></a> (a new interest i found recently), i&#39;m pretty new to this world. One of the <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/notebook" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>notebook</span></a> was an experiment done using as cover the cover of the book i wrote (<a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/osdev_notes" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>osdev_notes</span></a>) i called it the Osdev Notebook :D</p><p>I still have a lot to learn, but i kind of like the result.</p>
