It's funny how simple and fast a basic raytracer can be.
I remember in my first year of IT school (2007-2008) when we had to implement one on CPU, and we had to wait several minutes for one picture to be rendered.
Of course this one is still very basic, but hey it's in real time baby
For #wipwednesday I've been working on a custom toon shader in Godot. Shading is controlled with gradients. The outline uses the model's vertex colors.
The next feature I want to add is to control outline thickness with the alpha channel on vertex colors. This is for Robot Shooter

Where is the rendering error on my raymarched sphere grid coming from?
Farther away spheres distort in circular patterns when stacked. Dunno if it's caused by space repeating function running out of accuracy, and far away grid components starting to count in..
But it's kind of hard to do a grid without a repeating function!
Any ideas appreciated.
Building a little forest on the fields of this level to eventually add some platforming and gameplay
