Looking for some #tech advice. Trying to move from #Gmail to more secure #email accounts. Set up free @protonprivacy account and was planning on doing one more. Planned on using #Mailfence but they won't let me register. I was thinking of going with @startmail or @fastmail as a general secure inbox. Any thoughts or experiences with them? A third option is to do Mail Plus with #Proton and have just one box. Wanted to keep costs lower ($5 or below). Doing this as part @cyberlyra's Cyber Cleanse!
@seanbala @protonprivacy @startmail @fastmail @cyberlyra the guy who runs proton recently came out as a closet Trump supporter
@aapis @protonprivacy @startmail @fastmail @cyberlyra The Proton CEO clearly put his foot in his mouth. Most of the Tech CEOs are sucking up to Trump to get him to push their agendas or to get him to force the EU to drop regulations or suits. The funny thing is that unlike most of the others, I can't see what Proton's endgame would be in currying favor. It did give me some pause, but the positives of Proton outweighed this for me at this point. It was also easy to start a free account.

The thing giving me more pause about Proton is their lack of support of Linux and a seeming unwillingness to do so. I want to move away from Windows as fast if possible but I want to be able to use Drive on Linux. Another thing is their indulging in crypto. And as I noted in another comment to someone, their aggressiveness in pushing upgrades also leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I never ever like that in a company. It feels greedy. But I'm just trying it out. And I don't need to stay!
