I'm all over the moon. The post arrived and with it, my Potluck deck is now a physical reality.
Potluck is a semi-universal deck designed by me that fits into a pocket and plays all sorts of amazing games – perfect for quick breaks at work, for making new friends when traveling and passing time when waiting for things.
I've written about it more in detail on my website: https://hamatti.org/tabletop/potluck/
@hamatti Amazing! How can I get one?
@apkoponen I don't know yet. I might publish the files with a Creative Commons license for personal use so everyone could print their own but I need to figure out a few things before that.
@hamatti Since you asked, my all time favorite card game (which also is a local favorite) is #Tichu (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/215/tichu). Which needs 4 special cards (Dragon, Phoenix, Dog, 1). If I had to give away all my games (card and board) but one, this is the one I'd keep.
If you're ever at a Europython or PyConDE, find me and I'm happy to teach...
@mborus That looks interesting! I'll take you up on your promise the next time I'm around for sure.
@hamatti i came across this deck while researching the everdeck, and id also love to purchase a copy! Just in case you need extra incentive to make it available. It looks really cool!
@BestMattEver Thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I end up sharing or starting to sell them.
@hamatti I would love to buy a physical copy of this. I went down a very enjoyable rabbit hole last night reading up about universal card decks, so thanks for that!
@kript Unfortunately I don't have a way to sell them so I only have my personal copies.
If you want to buy a good universal deck, I recommend The Everdeck https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/291951/the-everdeck
@hamatti Cheers - I would, but it's only sold by Drive Thru Cards, which is in the US and the shipping and taxes to the UK where I live is more than the price of the thing itself!
