I had a difficult and frustrating day trying, and failing, to restore hubby's Outlook program. It demanded verification which I supplied to Microsoft, but on next launch overlaid a First Things screen which would not go away no matter what.
On researching this I discover, of course, it is a known MS fault and not easily overcome.
I adjusted the Registry several times, with no effect.
All I have achieved today is a headache and a worry, and now my husband cannot download or access his email.
