(pssst… if you install a bidet, even an inexpsive wand one, you never, ever need toilet paper again.)

Traditionally one uses a small towel, about the size of a wash cloth, to gently pat dry. Toilet paper is designed to disitegrate when dampened - it is not actually great at this, as plumbers will attest - but it might be used.
Whatever you do, do not use 'facial tissues', which are designed to **not** disintegrate when dampened, and then try to flush them. As the plumbers who come to fix things will tell you.
And, like cloth diapers, they clean up easily.
