It seems early for you to be awake?

#GoodMorning #Bonjour #GutenTag #Sunday

I've been photo sorting & making notes of the 2024 collection. I'm never done, but it's time to do a backup soon.. just in case I lose my work.

When it's daylight, I have to break some ice up in the driveway in anticipation of more *yuck* conditions coming today!

Less than a year ago, I was waiting for the sun to rise in #Robbinson #Maine, USA.
I was almost born near here. It was close.

@Rasta I love a road trip, Northumberland in June and hopefully sometime this year Liverpool to visit John and Paul’s childhood homes on a Beatles pilgrimage 🎶🎸

@CosmicBlaze
We have both those places near me 😆
We have our Northumberland Strait, & Liverpool down by the Mercy River #WAYCTV

I'd like to go somewhere, that I've been before, but my wife hasn't. Knowing what it once was, & what is has become, can be disturbing though. Childhood memories shattered. But I've done many tropical islands, my wife only Jamaica, WE did go to French Islands in the north, St Pierre et Miquelon .
We rob ourselves if we travel. We have that beautiful location now

@Rasta yes travels in your own country,really can connect you to a place and opens your eyes to the beauty around you , which we all should enjoy and protect 😎

@CosmicBlaze
A little story.. .long before my wife and I were dating, I had reoccurring memories of when I was 3. I'd talked about it, described it to her, and certain I could find it again. 1980, I got that chance. Knew where I lived back in the 50s, so I rented a car and we went there. Only one river, only one railway track, only one bridge.. was very familiar but much smaller. maybe it was spring and higher water level but the river was a disappointment. Not raging, more like a brook..

@Rasta It reminds me of a great peanuts strip where Woodstock goes back to the nest where he was born and he’s upset, Snoopy tells him that you can never go back. So poignant and full of pathos 🤔 have a good week.

@CosmicBlaze
So true. Many folks don't remember back as young as I do, so their memories may have faded. I often relive my youth in my head.. when I should be sleeping

@Rasta like a visit with cousins back in Ireland , where I was born, my wife was taking a photo of me outside my grandparents house where I entered this life 😊 the new owner invited us in after hearing my story, a wave of pure emotion washed over me and the house still had the same smell although it had changed over the decades.

@CosmicBlaze
What a nice thing to do, and a great experience. I have Irish on my mother's side.
What was to be my retirement home, now just a summer camp, is well over 100 years old.
When we first moved in, we believed it was insulated. It was not. It was a cold winter and a lot of expensive sudden changes.. like taking out walls to insulate. but we made it livable . I knew the girls who grew up there, one is still alive , and walks almost daily. I used to catch up and walk, to ask stories

@CosmicBlaze
The Father moved another house in, to connect to the originals. They think horse teams on the ice made that possible, so one section is a few years younger. Original Father's name on the door still.
There were three daughters, I think. One of them got Alzheimers (not the one still walking today) but before then, I saw a car drive up, with her and her son, and she told me how she grew up there. I showed her the house, we walked the property line (it's 1.5 acre) chatted and she left

@CosmicBlaze
She went in a Nursing home when her Alzheimer's started and died a few years back, when covid started. Her family surprised me in my backyard, I had headphones on and turned. They wanted to get permission to scatter her ashes in the ocean on my shoreline. I offered a tree for a memorial strip if desired. Just the ashes. The place she loved and talked about. I recognized the son, much older now.
But when I was ripping out walls, and putting in insulation, I found things down inside

@CosmicBlaze
Some school books, an all metal toy cap gun and things that fell from the walk-in attic to the kitchen floor. I called a old local man.Talked a bit and then I said, do you know where your grade 4 reader is?
WHAT???
I have it, along with love-notes to your *girl* of the day. Maybe you'd like it for a keepsake? and I delivered it. So, there's generations of memories in that house. Nearly lost it a few times, run down, storm damaged, broken into.. but, it's got a lot of memories
