19 January 1922 | A Pole, Ignacy Golik, was born in Warsaw.

In from 1 February 1941.
No. 9898
In 1944 he was transferred to KL Sachsenhausen. He survived the war.

Ignacy Golf passed away on 31 August 2022.

@auschwitzmuseum Always happy to read of a survivor. He died in 2022 at the age of 100.

„For years, Ignacy Golik was involved as a contemporary witness and spoke regularly in front of school classes and other groups in Germany.

In April (2022), he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his tireless commitment against oblivion and for reconciliation.“
