The #lagoon tour in #BoraBora was the best in French #Polynesia. Our guide showed us to weave hats from #coconut leaves, brought us to fantastic spots to #swim and #snorkel with lots of #sharks , some #stingrays and #colorful #fish and #corals . https://ift.tt/0s59NKb
@backpackandsnorkel We did the shark-and-ray snorkel thing there a few years ago. The only time I watched my back was when a barracuda showed up.
@tombradleyjr we used Lagoon Service and, in my opinion, their tour was better than the tours we did in Moorea and Aitutaki, even those were pretty fantastic too. On that tour we snorkeled with 20 or more sharks and also with stingrays. It was fantastic, but it took a bit of courage to jump into the real deep shark infested water.
@backpackandsnorkel
Ours was a snorkel excursion on our our Paul Gauguin cruise in 2016. What I recall about the black-tipped reef sharks was how they circled us, being more cautious of our presence than we were of theirs, before they decided were were OK and began swimming among us. This is a pic I took during our visit to their home.
@tombradleyjr you may have been at a different place. Here are photos from 2 of the stops on our tour.
@backpackandsnorkel Maybe. We started with a snorkel in the lagoon within spitting distance of Bloody Mary's, then met the sharks and rays in waist-deep water somewhere northwest of the Conrad Bora Bora Nui.
@tombradleyjr We snorkeled with the sharks near the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort. I don't recall making a stop anywhere near the Bloody Mary. We did ride by the Conrad Bora Bora Nui on our way to the snorkeling with sharks spot, but did not stop there.
