@muz4now there's been a recent movement to get off of Meta platforms, and Pixelfed has been one of the most popular alternatives. It is getting mentioned a lot on TikTok, and even on The Daily Show.

@muz4now It's the latest destination of the moment in reaction to all of the Meta nonsense as folks ditch Instagram and others. They are having challenges dealing with an influx of users in the rush.
@WarnerCrocker Gotcha. But they are federated, so each new user has to pick a server as I understand it. I wonder if all the servers are overwhelmed or just the most popular ones.
Have you joined a Pixelfed server?
@muz4now I was on the beta early on, let it lapse and can't get back in at the moment. Hopefully they'll get thins straightened out in the days ahead.
@muz4now @WarnerCrocker I run https://pixtagram.social. My server is not overwhelmed but that's because I've been intentionally throttling signups.
@jcrabapple @muz4now My challenge is I want to keep and use my real name, which is unfortunately tied to that original server and if I create another account I'm not sure how that will work out.

@jcrabapple @muz4now attempting to sign on/in. Keep getting the creditenials don't match notice, with no option to create an account just to log in.

@WarnerCrocker @muz4now you can use the same email address on my instance that you used on Pixelfed.social. They're different instances, different databases. You'll have a different username on my server though, i.e. warnercrocker@pixtagram.social.

@jcrabapple One (hopefully last question.) Can't seem to edit Bio or add website link. I can add profile pic but not able to access Bio or website fields. Suggestions?

Might be a bug in the iOS app.
Try logging in on the website and go to https://pixtagram.social/settings/home. You can edit things there.
@jcrabapple I tried both. No luck.
@WarnerCrocker I'm not sure then. I don't think it's an issue with the server because other new users have successfully updated their bios and website links.
