I really loved the aesthetic of the game Cyberpunk 2077, so I decided to draw a handheld radio from the game, and add an Arduino powered oled user interface to a cheap Chinese ham radio! I’m really happy with the final result! I used digital pins to trigger an analog switch, to directly control all the buttons on the radio. A bit ghetto - but it works well for devices that aren’t otherwise easily hackable
@taylorhayis I'm digging this aesthetic, nice work!
@MolarFox thanks! The aesthetic credit should all go to Filippo Ubertino, the artist who modeled the unit for the game. I asked him for a 3D model, but understandably he couldn’t share it he said he liked my version though, which meant the world to me!
@taylorhayis @MolarFox that's awesome! out of curiosity, how did you find out who the artist for that specific asset was? I wouldn't even know where to start looking for that kind of information.
@taylorhayis That display looks great; does it really have that orange tint or is that the colour balance in the photograph?
@PCOWandre Nope it's actually yellow! I used this display in yellow - https://www.diymore.cc/products/2-42-inch-12864-oled-display-module-iic-i2c-spi-serial-for-arduino-c51-stm32-green-white-blue-yellow?variant=17060396597306
@taylorhayis
I remember this from the Hackaday Cyberdeck Challenge last year, absolutely phenomenal build.
@tomnardi good memory Tom! Thanks for the kind words then, and now! Glad to see you’re on mastodon :)
@taylorhayis that's beautiful!
@taylorhayis beautiful love it
@pancake hey thanks! :)
@pancake that’s the one! Brought it into fusion as a canvas, and started drawing on top of it
@taylorhayis first result in google images for me looks gorgeous! Good work
