Today's fauna story... A tiny (approx 90mm long) brown thornbill just hit our window and fell on the deck, flat on its back, breathing rapidly. I turned him onto his side, and as I moved in for a pic, it leapt to its feet. It's still pretty shaken up, so I left it some water. Hopefully it will be ok.
@thefathippy poor thing. Most of the time, they recover. When one hits our window, if they are stunned enough to let me handle them, I move them to a place where they're not as obvious to predators so they can get their wits about them before becoming a snack for something.
Yep, he was stunned for a good 5-10 minutes, but perked up after that. You could see him getting more alert. A little bit after that and he was on his way.
