As a cyclist of 15 years... it pains me to admit we're kinda car dependent for a bit.

My knees aren't what they used to be and worse covid isn't over.

In a world without covid, I'd be love to take our tiny human on the bus and train, but it's pretty much impossible to get a 8 month to wear a mask and its even more challenging to keep unmasked strangers out of their adorable lil face.

Updated #CDC estimates show we'd pretty much been in a JN.1.11 soup since Dec, until late March, when LP.8.1 took majority.

Data collection continues to be a low priority nationally, as exactly zero regions have enough data for CDC to plot.

Two children of LF.7.7, dot1 and dot2, broken out by CDC, together with PA.1, a grandchild of MC.10.

When you’re chronically ill, your baseline means everything.

Non disabled people struggle to understand how easily we can lose function, as well as how hard it is to gain it back.

It’s one of the reasons many chronically ill people are still masking. We don’t have the luxury of denial. We know we won’t be “fine” if we get covid. We know what we’re risking.

My latest is all about how to maintain a baseline, as well as tips and tricks for family & friends to help us save precious energy:

It was easier than I'd thought to make a submission to the COVID-19 inquiry.

One of my few points: "Knowingly exposing others to a potentially fatal or disabling illness should be viewed as a form of assault".

I mentioned the physical debility I have endured since having covid over two years ago, but didn't identify myself as having a neurological disability. Which may or may not be correct - it turns out I not only misspelled my email address, I misspelled that part of it which is my name. 😑

Stuck inside watching the rain? 🌧️

What a perfect day to send your submission on the Phase 2 of the Royal Commission Inquiry into the Covid Response! 📝

Today's the last day, you have until midnight.
But don't worry, Aotearoa Covid Action has put together an excellent explainer to make it super easy for you to write a few lines and be heard. 😷✊🏽
I'll also be boosting people who post their submission so others can be inspired.

And so it begins. Today is the dreaded Family Event where I forced rapid covid pre-testing on everyone. 🙄

Adding to the stress is that one out-of-town cousin will be staying overnight with me on Monday. She graciously volunteered to test on Monday before coming to my house! 👍

I assured her my family will also test on Monday. She said: "You don't have to test. I don't care. Don't waste 3 tests on me."

I said: "We care about not getting you sick! That's not a waste." 🤷🏻‍♀️
