In complex dynamical systems with hundreds of parameters and variables, simple algebraic (and even linear) relationships often emerge among a small number of quantities of interest. These simple relationships are the levers the engineer uses to move mountains.

Engineering progresses by experienced engineers and younger engineers making measurements and debugging together.
