Stormy landing at Taipei (RCTP)
Hey! At least I landed!
@murdoc Welcome to FlightGear! You might enjoy my public domain Americas scenery:
@glitzersachen @mjdxp well, #Unicomp still makes new #PC122 keyboards, and if you're into #FlightSim then Taran propably knows options that are cheaper (Logitech K120 + HASU USB Converter) for your use-case.
Tonight's #Xplane #flightsim flying has me in the #Cirrus SF50 Vision jet for a quick but extremely WET hop at 6,000' MSL and 381 kts ground speed from Appleton, WI (KATW) to Midway (KMDW) to pick up some folks.
This screenshot shows the current WX outside the flight deck window. Kinda interesting silhouette effect.
This is real time of day and WX.
It finally happened!
Someone (namely @spacegamejunkie ), has finally filled a crucial gap in my life. The gap labelled "Podcast About Retro Flight-sims And Nothing Else".
This will be a monthly deep-dive into the origins of a genre very dear to my heart.
Thankyou to Brian, Chase and Denny for your idea, your passion and reading my mind! I can't wait to hear more.
And check your six!

I was watching fire tanker aircraft land at San Bernardino (KSBD) on runway 24, which has no standard approach probably due to big mountains being in the way. So I flew the BAe-146 (Neptune tanker livery) and made the approach in the sim. I landed a bit off center but otherwise stable. #XPlane12 #BAe146 #FlightSim #Aviation
I do love the Wing Flex on a PMDG 777 in #microsoftflightsim2024 - #flightsim
Haven't done any #FlightSim for a while... Still not too rusty, Japan is very pretty as the sun rises (Although I forgot to screenshot that).
A new overhaul mod has just been released for the 1990 DOS flight sim classic Wing Commander.

Not often I’m mind blown by what some people come up with to scratch their itch. Swapping panels easily thanks to cable management kits is a great and cheap idea.
Have you ever wondered if it's possible to make a #flightsim #indiegame on #pico8? @tmulgrew #indiedev has the answer and the answer is yes!
The virtual flying hobby continues...
So, completed the first flight with the new controls. They are _significantly_ different than the setup that I have for _Elite: Dangerous_ which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Once I managed to get used to the control scheme the flight was pretty smooth.
Unfortunately I'm gonna need to practice landing and using the rudder pedals a lot because the landing was one of the absolute worst yet. The passengers were not amused, but since we all lived they should be grateful.
Also a very annoying bug: during Career Mode sometimes the radio calls bug out and you can't actually complete them via hitting [Return]. The workaround is to either restart the mission (no), skip that particular part of the mission (also no), or tune the radios to the appropriate frequencies and make the calls properly (yes).
Still, lot of fun.
The Honeycomb yoke and throttles came in, and they're friggin' awesome. I'm hoping they take less effort (pain) than the other devices did. Very excited to put these to good use.
Bae 146 aircraft just released for X-Plane 12. I’m tempted #XPlane #FlightSim #AvGeek #macOS

omg it's smiling! I guess it's because it knows how insane the process of landing is when you literally cannot see the runway (and if you can, you're about to crash).
