A Missouri woman has pleaded guilty in connection to an attempted plot to steal Elvis Presley's Graceland estate. Lisa Findley forged the signatures of Lisa Marie Presley and Florida notary Kimberly Philbrick in order to claim that Elvis's daughter had not paid back a loan that listed Graceland as collateral. In May 2024, public notices were filed stating that Graceland would be auctioned, but this was stopped at the eleventh hour. Findley faces a 57-month federal prison sentence for what prosecutors called a "brazen scheme."

Spent yesterday in Memphis, Tennessee checking out Graceland, Sun Records/Studios, and Beale Street. So much early Rock & Roll history.

I liked the city and it makes me shake my head at the smack talkers about it. Yes, it is gritty and low income. I think most are uncomfortable about the majority African-American population which leads to the smack talk.

Definitely a city for people who love music and want to see some history.

"Graceland" is the title song of the album #Graceland, released in 1986 by #PaulSimon. The song features vocals by #TheEverlyBrothers. The lyrics follow the singer's thoughts during a road trip to Graceland after the failure of his marriage. Actress and author #CarrieFisher, Simon's ex-wife, said that the song referred in part to their relationship.
