New blog post alert! 👋 Explored the EPOCH framework (Empathy, Presence, Opinion, Creativity, Hope) and its implications for human-AI collaboration. Instead of chasing AGI, let's design AI to truly support us! 🤔 How does this relate to lernOS Convention 2025 and our focus on "Mind the Knowledge Gap"? www.linkedin.comlernOS Convention 2025 | Hans Gaertner 👬 lernOS Convention 2025: Where Human EPOCH Thrives with AI 🖥️ Thanks Jonathan Boymal for sharing insights from the AHA Symposium 2025. It sparked an interesting reflection on the relationship between AI and humans, particularly the concept of EPOCH and contrasting perspectives on AI development. The basic idea is that there are five skills that cannot be performed by AI in their entirety, but rather that their overall application is reserved for humans. 1️⃣ E➖mpathy and Emotional Intelligence: The capacity for understanding and sharing emotions and managing one's own. 2️⃣ P➖resence, Networking, and Connectedness: Capabilities used in physical presence, facilitating interaction and shared experiences. 3️⃣ O➖pinion, Judgment, and Ethics: The ability for critical thinking, synthesizing information, considering perspectives, and integrating analysis with moral considerations. 4️⃣ C➖reativity and Imagination: Capabilities for generating novel ideas and visualizing possibilities . 5️⃣ H➖ope, Vision and Leadership: Qualities like optimism, initiative, perseverance, and the ability to inspire towards a goal. Instead of solely focusing on perfecting AI towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), there's a compelling argument for designing AI to optimally support and augment human capabilities. This change of perspective isn't just an academic distinction; it reflects in my view a fundamental value system driving innovation. The general principle of AI application as developed in the study by Isabella Loaiza and Roberto Rigobon from MIT Sloan School of Management (Link in the comments) resonates strongly with our approach to the upcoming lernOS Convention 2025, a hybrid event on knowledge management and learning organization. We believe in fostering an environment where technology, including AI, enhances human connection, collaboration, and learning rather than replacing it. Take part in the discussion and join us: Mind the Knowledge Gap. One Tool to Rule Them All!?

✅ The Fact
There is no #tool to rule them all. Effective #knowledgemanagement depends on your goals, needs, and context and builds on solid #thinking and working habits—not on a single tool.

Of course, if you do have long-time plans for your personal #knowledgemanagement, you should not use proprietary tools like #Obsidian, #OneNote, #Evernote and alike.

You also should think of switching to a much better (learnability, portability/compatibility, typobility, logic, featureset) markup syntax like #orgdown which is used in #Emacs #Orgmode (among other tools).

But if you start with Org-mode, you need to know the right way of doing it, as so many web pages recommend. Here's my take:

A specific blog post about the #lockin effects of Obsidian and Co (despite using some tool-specific flavor of MD) is in the making. (Please don't start a religious discussion here.)

I'm wondering if anyone knows of an existing technical solution for this:

I would like to run something like a #DokuWiki internally to collect and manage #information for employees.
On top of that, I'd love to have a #search system where users can ask questions in natural language, and the system would either:
+ understand the question and answer it based on the knowledge stored in the #wiki, or
+ point users directly to the relevant section or page within the wiki.

Does anything like this already exist?
#Recommendations are very welcome!

Trying to decide: Obsidian.md or Logseq — which one is the ultimate tool for knowledge management and note-taking?

Both have their strengths, but I’m curious:
Which do you use and why?
Pros, cons, hidden features — let’s discuss!

Boss asked and I made fast research for ways to share
knowledege.

I have chosen assesmets for balance between:
- amount of communication
- refining knowledge for others (speeches) and for
self(articles).
- establishing personal connections.
- new and good old information, frequency.

AI sort simple ways this way from best to worst:
1) offline meetings, project management tools, online
pairing programming and calls
2) self-made video tutorials, blog, newsletter
3) wiki, faq, public speaches

Sadly wiki at 3 only :-(.

At 1) also Meetings with AI.
at 2) also AI chatbot helper.

Anyone use the #Zettelkasten method of note-taking and knowledge management? Stumbled across it and I'm quite curious about it. I read widely across a lot of topics. No longer in grad school but having a way to organize and cross-reference is really appealing.
