The notion of #police being there to #ServeAndProtect in times of need often does not apply to #Indigenous, #Black or other #RacializedMinorities in #Canada. The notion of “help” more often resembles harm.
This leads to the question, why does #PoliceBrutality against Indigenous and Black people continue to happen? Because it is a symptom of the structural #racism that exists within #Canadian society.

German police goes old tech when it comes to safely apprehend a mentally disturbed woman with a knife.
Officers wore full body chain armor under the ballistic vest before entering and apprehending. The woman was safely transferred to the psychiatric hospital. No shooting of sick persons, officers unharmed. And it's not exactly the same material as in the #MiddleAges.

I truly hope Justice Officials get to the bottom of this unnecessary brutality and initiate changes in the Policing Policies & Procedures to protect citizens from this ever happening again.
There is no room for rogue behaviors in the part of society that is sworn to serve and PROTECT us.
Tyre was not protected. He was brutalized and killed.
