I wonder why more solo van builders who are short enough to fit in side-to-side beds don't use cab bunks that fit over the front driver and passenger seats. The cab is often wasted space when not driving and putting the bed there opens up the cargo area quite a bit. The A and B columns can support the weight, I think.
I'm too tall so I have a front-to-back bed / bench seat. The front passenger seat swivels to create another place to sit when it's raining and cold.

First-time RV buyers view it as a one-time thing: envision our dream RV, buy the closest to that that we can afford.
They go on their first trip: the door can’t be opened when the bed is down; the heating system is too loud to sleep with; cheap cabinetry breaks on the first gravel road.
They start envisioning their next RV.

We know this is a very lenghty update but we wanted to showcase what we did for the past 2 months to prepare for our adventure. We put more batteries, more solar panels, new mattress and more! 
Today was "small-repairs-day" in my van -- replaced a door lock that was not working properly and an awning leg swivel holder that had broken up last summer (yes, I know, I procrastinate a lot).
Heads-up for Fiamma F80 awning owners: if your awning has swivels with the ref part number 98673A204 (or 205), know that you may replace it with the model 98673S204 (205) which is supposedly stronger. Also, don't forget to lubricate the swivels when mounting.
