Some cases had appeared again and I removed them again, apart form 2 who died in Russia and for whose dates of death I don't find good sources. Someone reading Russian might be able to help here. I'd be happy if so! #WikimediaCommons #Wikidata
I wrote up my notes and results of my effort to collect information about the Internet Journal of Chemistry: https://chem-bla-ics.linkedchemistry.info/2025/08/11/the-internet-journal-of-chemistry.html
Feedback, curation, ideas, etc are all most welcome!
Remember when I was nerd-sniped and built a viewer for french communes border data?
Well, I rewrote all the data processing in Rust (and SQLite) and made it generic, so now instead of just french communes, there are 400+ categories of places to view. A few examples: Brazil municipalities
Quarters of Limassol
Provinces in Thailand
Romanian counties (județ)
The image they added as default on Wikidata is this one

There are more but not too many:

Wikipedia has finally confirmed that I am a human being.
And they are right, I am on the side of the murdered children, not on the side of the politicians and cynics who are responsible for this. Unfortunately, it is still not available in Bavarian.

Is there 1 tool that you would like to be added to Wikidata?
The West Lothian area has 53 category A listed buildings on #wikidata. Ochiltree Castle has a #wikipedia article.

@ainali @wikimediaDE I don’t see how you would arrive at the consensus that tools of relevance to the Wikidata community wouldn’t be notable enough to be included in Wikidata. Clearly they are sui generis notable to a significant number of people. In addition they easily satisfy the following criterion:
> It refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity that can be described using serious and publicly available references.
End-of-week "fun" with #SPARQL & #tidyverse: Checking whether #CoVID had/has an impact of the life expectancy of (famous/relevant) people listed in #Wikidata.

Was just watching a recording of the second day of #Wikimania in #Nairobi and happened on a #Wikidata presentation. A member of the audience suggested a tool registry to be implemented on top of Wikidata during the Q&A. As comments are disabled for the recordings (on YouTube), I would like to mention our modest effort at building exactly such a tool registry for the #DigitalHumanities.
The project website can be found at https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_DH_Tool_Registry

@stuartyeates ah, I am glad you ask :)
I have a solution I have been working with, the Citation Typing Ontology, see https://chem-bla-ics.linkedchemistry.info/tag/cito
Specifically, with #wikidata examples, check these posts:

Interesse? Hier gehts zur App: https://zurl.co/N7Pal
#KDE Itinerary just got showcased by @nightrose at #Wikimania2025 in Nairobi for its #Wikidata use: https://youtu.be/WaWk6hNGRrk?t=1043s
Is this your first Wikidata query or have you done one before?
