I'm wondering if what's happening in the US is galvanising the political left across Europe, perhaps even re-aligning the centre with the left to some extent, as the reality of extreme right-wing government, and its implication of alliance with the world's most oppressive regimes, unfolds in the media spotlight.
The forthcoming election in Portugal might be a test of this.

Well, in former terms, to keep liberal democracies in Europe is not exactly political left.
It’s actually a quite conservative goal. What happens in the US is not only „right wing“ - it’s extremist right with a fascist and anti-democratic twist.
