Some Democrats Regret Their Scattered Responses to Trump’s Speech to Congress – The New York Times
«But Ms. Slotkin quickly added that her approach differs strongly from Mr. Green’s. “We can’t just be against something,” said Ms. Slotkin, a moderate Democrat who won in November in a state that Mr. Trump carried. “We have to be for something.”» Mr. Green can do whatever TF his constituents want him to do, thank you, *New York Times*
This is an oblique way of saying “we can’t be anti-fascist”, without actually articulating the #FirstPrinciples and #CoreValues they do stand for, such as #republicanism.
Weak sauce.
Well, I get that you can't just be anti-something; you have to be pro-something (e.g., pro-justice, pro-equity; pro-science; pro-good-governance, pro-good-blue-collar-jobs, etc.) but also: a Senator doesn't get to tee off on a Representative, and the stupid NYT doesn't get to present that as if it were real news.
