In Ep 12 of #spotLights, Jonathan Townson talks to Daniel Booth about his lab's recent #preprints (cell division mechanisms & new bioimaging tools), presented at #biologists100. One was recently published @J_Cell_Sci !
They also explore the value of preprinting for early-career PIs and their teams.

#MeetOurDataStewards: The NFDI4BIOIMAGE Community Support Taskorce
No matter your research field, @nfdi4bioimage supports you in managing imaging #data. This process requires not only time and expertise, but also specialists who understand #bioimaging data.
Over the next few months, we will introduce one expert from our Data Steward team each month. We look forward to sharing their exciting projects, publications, and helpful tips with you.

It was a pleasure to be a speaker at the "Shaping light in space and time for bioimaging" Ph.D. school in Erice! Met a selection of amazing scientists, and had a lot of fun discussing imaging and optics in a great location! #bioimaging #optics
The high degree of heterogeneity in #bioimaging #metadata makes collaboration difficult and often leads to the loss of relevant metadata. In the presentation “Bioimaging Metadata”, which our @nfdi4bioimage colleagues Susanne Kunis and @joshmoore gave a few weeks ago, they discuss the reasons for this heterogeneity and which standards can be used to work towards loss-free and reusable metadata.
They have posted their slides on Zenodo: https://zenodo.org/records/15083018
@nfdi4bioimage experts will share best practices for #FAIR #bioimaging data in the webinar series "How to organise and share my imaging data?" from May 14 to July 2, 2025, organised by the STANDFLOW project and supported by @emblebi.

If you train people in ImageJ, Fiji, whatever, even if it isn't your day job, please let us know, and please share this post! Thanks a ton, we really appreciate it. (2/2) forms.gle/C8dUpg8qZkbD... #bioimaging #microscopy #bioimageanalysis
Open Source Bioimage Analysis ...
Bioimaging and bioimage analysis friends, some help if you have 2-3 mins; for a paper, we're trying to estimate the number of biologists trained in open source software or tools in the last ~5 years. (1/2) #bioimaging #microscopy #bioimageanalysis
