Gute Option mal aufzuräumen ;)
Für #Linux gibt es super viele Tools zum #Backups machen. #Freefilesync ist super simpel, #rsync ist das Äquivalent über die Kommandozeile. Finde ich am einfachsten weil man einfach Dateien kopiert anstatt irgendwelche Backup-Archive zu machen, die man dann nur mit dem Programm lesen kann.
Bei #Windows auch mal im Appdata Ordner schauen, Browserprofil oder so. Ansonsten #Firefox account oder datenexport
Best install dialog ever 
Ich war heute bei einer Kundschaft. Wollte eine Datensicherung über eine externe Festplatte mit #freefilesync erstellen. Aber Windows kennt keine USB Datenträger mehr. Habe mich schon mit Treibern herumgeschlagen aber nichs ging. Maus und Tastatur funktioniert. Jemand ne Idee? Habe überhaupt keine Lust auf eine Reparatur

Been meaning to try #Syncthing, even installed it on #Android, but was never really able to give it a really good spin.
I checked #robocopy but didn't feel confident enough to try it on win command line.
I tried the win version of #FreeFileSync as I had used with #Ubuntu years ago, but now I find the interface too complex. I am scared of losing data.
All said, based on your experience I'll really try Syncthing to see how it addresses my use case. Thank you so much.

I need to set up a better #backup solution. Currently using #FreeFileSync to just sync between my computer and my backup disks. Works fine, but one of the disks is almost full, and I need to move stuff to the other drive, and it's sloooow over USB 2. Plus there's too much manual labour involved.
So a networked solution and bigger disks coming up in 2025.

Hier noch ein kurzes Video zum Ablauf.
FreeFileSync verfügt ja über ein "Ordner-Überwachungs-Tool" = Realsync. Damit kann man auch USB-Medien überwachen, was u. a. ideal für Foto-Sticks ist:
Schließt man einen USB-Speicher mit einem bestimmten Namen an, so schaut Realsync automatisch in den vorgegebenen Pfaden nach neuen Dokumenten, Fotos usw.
Wird das Tool fündig, so löst es die entsprechende Aktion aus - etwa die Kopie in ein Backup-Verzeichnis usw.
There's one catch: The donation edition covers only 10 devices, and above that you need a business licence, but due to a bug, every Linux device is counted as a new device after rebooting, and unused devices can only be removed after a certain cool-off period.
Unfortunately, I reboot my Linux computer more frequently than I can remove duplicates from my #FreeFileSync licence. This means that I run out of FFS licences within a week, just by rebooting the only computer that I installed FFS on.
As I want to be able to do multiple backups simultaneously and use parallelisation, I bought the donation edition of #FreeFileSync. Also, FFS is an awesome program that truly deserves crowd funding!

Da dieses auch den Sync via SFTP (SSH) beherrscht, ist die Übertragung zum Raspberry Pi recht simpel einzurichten.
Getestet habe ich jetzt noch, ob auch an den Raspberry Pi angeschlossene USB-Speicher angesteuert werden können, auch das klappt.
Damit hat man schon fast ein kleines Mini-NAS ;-)
Dazu noch den Sync in Form der FFS-Ordnerüberwachung speichern.
